What to do when your stroller is dirty...

Okay, so a few days ago I was out for a walk with my newborn in the stroller that we have had for almost 4 years when it occurred to me that it hasn't been cleaned in basically four years. I was so disgusted that my 7 week old was riding in this filthy contraption, but I had no desire to take it totally apart and clean it and then re-assemble it. Okay, before you think I am the worst Mother on the face of this planet, he is in the carseat and the carseat is in the stroller. Now given, I did clean the carseat before he was born, so he isn't right on top of the filth, but he is close enough. So I was talking to my Mom and husband about it and we all concluded that if I just took it into the back yard and sprayed it down, then used some water and detergent, it could get the job done lickety split. Well, today was the day that I hosed it down and did it work? I think so! Woo hoo the lazy woman wash! I used the jet mode on the spayer and hosed that sucker down! The Tide with bleach and water did get rid of the gross dirt that has been collecting on that bad boy for 4 years and while it doesn't look brand new, it does look and smell better! Hopefully it will dry okay, that's really what I am most worried about right now. I do live in Arizona and it is sunny and warm today...dry, dry, dry!!! I must say that I already feel so accomplished today, I actually did one productive thing!

  3. Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!

This is how I've always washed the strollers around here, works pretty well and doesn't take that much time.

  5. I admire you for cleaning your stroller. When my second was born, it never occurred to me to clean it.... Oh well, what can I say, but darn all those people who make us feel guilty.

  10. I am totally there with you! This past summer we concluded that having 4 strollers is insane... of course I am still trying to sell a few of them on craigslist. I clean mine with clorox wipes, but I would love to hose mine down. Unfortunately we live in the rainy Pacific Northwest, so it would take YEARS to dry. Thanks for sharing and bringing me a laugh! Visiting from SITS!

  11. Ha! LOVE it! Of course, if I did that I'd end up with a frozen stroller...
